In 1972, Nicholas Jenkins co-founded Guyatt/Jenkins, later renamed The Jenkins Group. Prior to this, Nicholas had worked as Art Director to the New English Library, as a freelance designer, as Senior
Tutor at The Royal College of Art and as a Guest Lecturer at Yale University, USA.
His vast experience comes from working as an individual design consultant to clients such as WHSmith, The Arts Council, The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, The Commonwealth Development
Corporation, The Brewers' Society, Xansa and formerly The FI Group, Linklaters & Paines, DeLaRue, Mowlem, The Church of England, The Institute of Economic Affairs, Reed Employment, the publisher
Macmillan, The Silver Jubilee (London) and The Golden Jubilee 2002.
His design work has included major corporate identities for all clients for whom he has been appointed consultant. Additional design work includes film titles, annual reports, books, magazines,
brochures, exhibitions, videos, stamps and numerous interior architecture and signing projects including WHSmith, Marks & Spencer, Do It All, London City Airport, Victoria Coach Station and
Buchanan Bus Station. Nicholas has also staged two one-man exhibitions of poster designs in London and Marseilles and published numerous articles and books on design such as 'Photographics' and 'The
Business of Image'.
Nicholas Jenkins is an independent consultant and is one of the few respected voices in the world of corporate identity design still actively designing on a day to day basis. He is a Fellow of The
Royal College of Art and The Royal Society of Arts, Visiting Professor at Nottingham Trent University, and has been President of The Chartered Society of Designers, Chairman of the Scottish Design
Awards, advisor to the Design Council, adjudicator at the Johannesburg and Bilbao Design Centres and a member of the panel for the Prince Philip Awards.
